So I got to work.
First the hunt for cute pillowcases. I asked my mom and mother-in-law first, if they had any pretty old pillowcases that were sitting in a cupboard somewhere. This is where the purple and the sheep came from. They are both flannel, which is super soft and cozy. The others I found at thrift shops, and I felt VERY lucky because I looked for a long time for pretty ones. You'd be surprised at how many ugly pillowcases there are out there!
Then I got to work cutting and sewing. I made these 'assembly line' style, and wanted to give up half-way because I got so tired of each of the steps. It took me a while, but I finally finished them all! And my little sweetheart loves them. {With bribery she agreed to spend a morning modeling them all for me, which was a huge undertaking}
{Also a huge undertaking was me...not a photographer or graphic designer... trying to edit these pictures to make them look good. Not sure if I succeeded...will keep practicing...}

ReplyDeleteThese are SO cute! They look like dresses! We have made lots of pillow case dresses & skirts - but this is even better! My mom works at estate sales and usually buys pillowcases for 25 cents! So excited to make these dresses too! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE what you did with these pillowcases! The gowns definitely look pretty enough to be worn out as regular dresses, now I am so excited to hit up some yard sales to find some cute pillowcases if I can. I found you through Pinterest and am glad I did. I love your other pillowcase night gowns also!
ReplyDeleteOh I can never get enough of vintage pillowcases! I've only ever made them into shopping bags, I love this idea. Definitely one I will keep for my niece's next birthday present!
