This weekend I was in a decorating mood.
It's a good thing that my friend is having a baby girl,
so I got to have fun with some onesies.
This was the first time I have ever decorated onesies myself, even though I
have seen loads of them at baby showers.
I tried to be a little bit original.
My first idea was the bow-on-the-shoulder, inspired by the many woman's shirts I have seen.
Next, I thought of ruffles around the neck.
I had some really cute yellow eyelet fabric that I tried first, but I had gotten it at a
thrift store, and it smelled too much like mothballs, so white lace it was.
I created the ruffles, and bound the gathered part of the top one
in white bias tape to hide the messy threads.
Finally, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone.
Several of you have asked for a tutorial on how to make the flower
first seen on the baby birdie dress, then on Ivy's Easter dress. I thought it
would look super cute on a onesie, so there you go.
If you want to learn how to make one, keep reading!
The onesies came in this cute mesh bag, so I reused it with a new ribbon for packaging!
