As I was pawing through my 5 year-old's closet a few months ago, I realized that ALL of his cute church ties were waaaay too short! I had a few hanging on the rack that I had made, but most were holiday-ish, like just for Halloween, or Valentines day, and all of the other, really nice ties (like from Children's Place and Gap) were for 24 month to 4 year olds. Oops...
So, for a few more weeks, Max's ties were hitting his belly button (way too short) until I could get my hands on some ties that fit!
Apparently, the owner of Trendy Ties, Rachel, grew up with my husband, and while I've never met her, I'm told by my Mother-in-Law that we would totally be friends. So, in this small world, Trendy Ties has saved Max's Dressy wardrobe from the flood it was previously expecting!
-First of all, the fabrics are all so fun! I know it's called trendy ties, but really, every fabric and pattern that passes across the screen while you're in her shop makes you want it. I love the colors and the designs, you can tell this girl's got style.
-Second, they are very well made. I've made my own fair share of ties see {here} and {here} and sure, my patterns of faux-ties get the job done for your random holiday, or your tie to be worn every once in a while, but Trendy Ties are made using quality fabric, and you can tell when you first pull them from the package that they can take a little 'boy wear-and-tear'.
They clasp behind the neck, and the clasp doesn't slip at all; I was worried about the clasp coming undone while I wasn't looking, but no chance. Once it's on, it's on! love it!
And...oh, man, Rachel did surprise me with a really fun little treat inside the tie she sent me! Do you see the stinkin' cutest tie-tack ever made? I had the biggest smile on my face when I pulled that little gem out of the package and Max was so excited to wear it to church yesterday!
So, Trendy Ties not only makes the cutest ties for little boys, they also make bow ties (there's a special place in my heart for bow ties)
and men's ties that all match. Also, they boast several different sizes for each, so if you're looking for a tie for a newborn and a big kid as well as for a Daddy...this is the place. (and...there are extra long ties for men as well, which I have to look for when getting our daddy a tie.
