(iCandy) One Shoulder Ruffled Maxi

It has been really tricky finding time/energy to sew lately.  Which is a bummer, because sewing is  a stress reliever for me.  But it takes energy, which is what I seem to be sadly lacking after my kids are in bed...

Anyway, this dress has been in the works for a LONG time.  Finally finished.
Found the fabric in LA and it is REVERSIBLE!  Dots on one side, stripes on the other.  It is like two really thin pieces of fabric fused together by the dots!  Cool Stuff.
First child-maxi I have ever made...
Sometimes I am unsure about little girls in maxis.
Cute or Little House on the Prairie??
I messed up a bit when making the pattern - I didn't make the bodice long enough...so I had to sew another strip onto it.  It doesn't look all that great, but I didn't have a choice at that point!  So I have made the proper adjustment to the bodice pattern.
I think I like it...
The important thing, is Emily really loves the dress...
It could easily be made short too...
 Tutorial coming soon...

  1. This is so gorgeous! You know what is amazing? I found a photo of myself when I was 3, just yesterday, wearing a swimsuit that has the same neckline! The one strap, the ruffle. And it was red with white polka dots!!
