This week a friend of mine had a cute, girly baby shower. It was so fun to think of a fun baby girl present.
I had lots of ideas, but not very much time.
Then last week, I was INSPIRED. By these baby circle skirts on MADE. SO adorable.
Then, I thought of my Ice Cream Social skirt, and how fun it would be to make a baby version! I actually cut out Dana's 0-3 month pattern, and used it. I had to play around with the band to get the right size, but after one mess-up, figured it out!
You also could easily make the skirt a different baby or toddler size following the adult
Ice Cream Social Skirt tutorial.
Same idea!
I used my serger to do a rolled hem...for the very first time. It worked like a champ! So fun.
However, if you don't have a serger you can finish it off with a hem, trim or even a little ruffle!
20 minutes each.
Can't beat that!
Want to make one?

Here is what you start with!
If you use Dana's pattern, cut your yoga band 3" tall by 13 1/2" wide.

So cute Jen! That little baby is a doll. I have yet to try my serger and the rolled hem. I just may need to do so now!
ReplyDeleteLove the skirts.....could eat up Baby Scarlet!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love to know how you did the rolled hem.
ReplyDeleteI actually just followed the instructions in my serger manual! It is done with three threads and one needle, so you have to remove one of the needles. Once I did the settings like the manual said, I tried it on a scrap piece, and it worked like a champ!
